City not interested in buying Real Madrid
Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan has not made inquiries about trying to buy Real Madrid, according to a source close to the Emirati minister of presidential affairs.
The AS sports daily claimed on Sunday that the Abu Dhabi-based billionaire would be prepared to pay one billion euros (dollars) for the Spanish giants, home to world class players like Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.
But a source close to Sheikh Mansour “expressed his condemnation of the information released by the daily”, the official Emirati WAM news agency reported.
The source described the news as “unfounded and totally lacking in credibility”.
“Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed is currently focusing all his efforts and attention on upgrading Manchester City and pushing it towards the goal of taking its place amongst the United Kingdom’s top clubs,” he said.
