Lio Man Cheong ‘Heavenly horses have no bounds’
Lio Man Cheong ‘Heavenly horses have no bounds’
by Rogério Beltrão Coelho
and Cecília Jorge
He is gentle-mannered, softly spoken, quiet and pensive. More thoughts than words, you would say. As if the artist in him was ever present, his strokes guided by a feeling deep inside, to portray the ambience that has surrounded him since childhood. Not letting go the urge to capture time – past and present – so that memories can be left for future generations. Lio Man Cheong is one of the Macau artists […]
Grand Prix Museum: Witness to History
by Chris W. C. Sam, Institute For Tourism Studies (IFT)
There are currently over 20 museums in Macao, with the Museum of Macao, the Macao Museum of Art, and the Maritime Museum best known to the public, followed by the Grand Prix Museum. The Macau Grand Prix has been held for 55 consecutive years and this year marks the 56th anniversary of the event. It is not an easy task for a small city like Macao to regularly organise car racing - a rare sport in Asia - but the former Macau-Portuguese Government duly founded the Grand Prix Museum under the auspices of the Macau Government Tourist Office at its current site on 18th November 1993 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Macau Grand Prix.
The Museum showcases genuine Macau Grand Prix […]

Cats will chew on all sorts of items in their home, such as paper, wires, string, dental floss, needles, pennies, paper clips, and thread.
These thin objects – called linear foreign bodies – can cause an obstruction in the cat’s gastrointestinal tract, which requires […]

Cooking Times: Black-eyed Pea and Tuna Salad
by Carlos Balona Gomes
This black-eyed pea and tuna salad, usually served chilled, is a classic Portuguese Summer salad. But if you want to turn it into a Winter salad, just warm it and add some boiled potatoes, browned in a skillet with some bay leaves and olive oil, and serve it over toasted bread slices. So tasty.
The basic ingredients of this recipe are […]
