According to the land reclamation plan recently announced by the government, Macau is going to grow by 3, 5 square kilometers in the next few years. The new project includes claimed land in the northeast side of Macau peninsula, in the south of Avenida Sun Iat Sen and in the northern area of Taipa Island.
