Another cash handout for residents

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Macau permanent and non-permanent residents will get another cash handout from the Government this year and it will be same amount as last year, Radio Macau reported yesterday.
Last year, Macau permanent residents received MOP 6,000 and non-permanent residents MOP 3,600 in a scheme which cost the government MOP 3.12 billion.
The scheme was launched in 2008 so that people could share the benefits of the SAR’s economic development. That year, permanent residents got MOP 5,000 and non-permanent residents MOP 3,000.

If you see the budget of government, you will see there has been a large budget spent on Education already. Education does not short of budget at all. I will proposed the budget to spend on building cheap houses for middle class and lower class.

I think those money should invest in the medical services, like build in a larger hospital, more professional doctors, more nurses, etc, as there is a high demand in the hospital, especially in the A&E!

personally speaking, a cash handout is obviously good for me, but not necessarily good for the Macao economy. Money can be spent on the social welfare system or the social housing - Macao is still lagging behind in those two fields compare with most of the western economies, say, countries within Western Europe.
