The current Board of the Santa Casa da Misericórdia (Holy House of Mercy) led by Purveyor Antonio José de Freitas got re-elected for a sixth term yesterday, with the almost consensus of members casting ballots.
Seventy-one out of 73 voters approved the same list (a single running list) for another two-year term, while the two remaining votes were one void and one blank.
The charitable institution founded by Bishop D. Belchior Carneiro that recently celebrated its 440th anniversary, has up to 300 members. According to the re-elected Purveyor roughly half of its members are permanently in Macau.
Besides the Purveyor, José J. das Neves, Manuel Gonçalves, Arnaldo Santos and Antonio Azedo were also elected as members of the Executive Board.
The list re-elected for the 2010-2011 mandate includes Leonel Alves (chairman of the general assembly), Anabela Granados and Luis Machado (secretaries).
The Fiscal Board lists José R. das Neves (chairman) Telmo Martins and José Poupinho Chan.
