Macau competes in East-Asian Games
Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah bid good luck to the Macau representatives of the 2009 Hong Kong East Asian Games in the farewell ceremony on Monday.
Mr. Ho told the representatives they had the Macau government’s full support.
He said participating in the large scale games is a rare opportunity and he hoped the representatives would take the opportunity to perform their best and meet new friends.
The East Asian Games will be held from December 5-13 and there are 22 big sports events and 262 small sports events. Macau delegated 223 representatives to compete in 18 events including aquatics, track and field, badminton, basketball, bowling, snooker, cycling, dance sport, soccer, cricket, judo, shooting, squash, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball, weightlifting and martial arts.
