Hundreds race up the Macau Tower
Almost 700 people joined yesterday’s race up the Macau Tower with the participants ranging from 10 to 69 years old.
Pedro Nuno triumphed in the male division as he took 17min 25sec to climb the 1,298 steps of the Macau Tower. Triathlon specialist Hoi Long won in the female division by reaching the 61st storey from ground level in 20min 40sec.
Most of the 671 participants were locals but the event also attracted people from Hong Kong, Nepal, Guangdong province, US, Canada and Australia. The male division featured almost 570 runners while there were more than 100 female athletes.
The prize for the best athlete from each division was a Sky Jump admission.
