Building repair subsidy extended until 2012
The public grants scheme for the repair of common parts of low-rise buildings has been extended until 2013. According to Monday’s Official Gazette, the Provisional Subsidy Scheme for Common Parts Maintenance of Low-Rise Buildings will accept applications during the next year.
The scheme was created two years ago by the then Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah and was due to expire next month. However, current Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On has now approved a one-year extension of the project.
The programme is focused on residential buildings with seven or less storeys that are at least 30-years old. Grants can go up to a maximum of MOP 40,000 to repair entrance gates and electricity and water supply installations.
