Two drug traffickers charged
The Public Prosecutions office has concluded preliminary investigations into two drug trafficking cases which resulted in an official drug trafficking charge on both suspects.
The first case involves a Tanzanian national, who carried 798.6 grams of heroin inside his body traveling by airplane from Malaysia to Macau, and with Guangzhou as final destination.
He was reported to have been promised a 2,500 US dollars payment by an unidentified male foreigner.
The suspect was intercepted by the Judiciary Police in Macau's International Airport and taken to the hospital to have the heroin removed from inside his body.
The second case is of a 25-year-old Hong Kong resident, who had drugs concealed in his apartment in Macau's northern area, to sell locally. Following his arrest, police searched his apartment and found 9.2 grams of cocaine, ketamine, as well as drug consumption paraphernalia.
Both cases have been sent to court and now await trial.
