Law reform to be revamped
The International Law Office (GADI) and the Law Reform Office will be merged into a new Services Bureau, secretary for Administration and Justice Florinda Chan told Portuguese-language Rádio Macau. The new structure, she said, will coordinate the revision of the Macau legislation. A week ago, Chan announced the creation of a “more effective central mechanism” for this purpose.
Until the new Bureau is created, the current deputy coordinator Patrícia Ferreira will head GADI. Coordinator Jorge Oliveira officially left the office yesterday for personal reasons but also cited a desire to work in the private sector.
