Edmund Ho nominated as CPPCC vice-chairman
Former Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah has been nominated as vice-chairman of the 11th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Beijing yesterday.
The nomination was announced during the CPPCC Standing Committee meeting.
The CPPCC members will vote on the nomination on the closing day of its third plenary session on March 13.
Among the 13 social figures having been approved by the Standing Committee and added to the CPPCC member list on February 28, Edmund Ho is the only one being nominated as vice-chairman of China’s top political advisory body.
If the nomination is passed, Edmund Ho will be the second CPPCC vice-chairman from Macau, following Ma Man Kei.
