Magicians and magic, trick or gimmick…great illusions and disappearing acts have long filled the imagination of many of us since childhood. Some managed to learn the art and amaze others with their talent and technique while most others settled for the warm applause awarded them while performing for their loving families or a few schoolmates. Of those who did show talent in the art, a few persevered and went on to become stars and real entertainers, enthralling audiences world-wide.
Get ready all those wishing to return to the mysterious universe of magicians’ performance, because there will be another unique chance next week, in four shows scheduled for November 17-19, at the Macau Cultural Centre.
Well-known master magicians from around the world will combine classic elements with comedy, elegance and grand illusionism to wow local audiences, in the “World Magic Stars Gala 2011”. The event is organised by the Magician’s Association of Macau, a non-profit association established in 2000 by a group of volunteers keen to mix magic arts with charity work.
Among the guest stars, Christopher Hart, from Canada is described as “the most famous right hand in Hollywood” as “it” appeared in some of the Adams family movie series.  Hart has twice won the “Stage Magician of the Year” besides the top prize “Grand Prix Magique” in Monte Carlo.
From the USA comes Danny Cole, the 2003 Magic Olympic Stage Magic Award winner among other international magic awards, who is said to combine “elegant style with artistic creativity.”
Young talented South Korean Wooki Ro, slated as one of the most famous female magicians in Asia, as famous as Singaporean magician Joe Yu – both awarded numerous international magic prizes.
Widely acclaimed and awarded around the world, Cuban Jose Almenares has won his place as one of the most popular magicians in his country, and promises to mix his “power of magic art with the element of humor”.
