3 - PHILIPPINES: Manila – A boy lights a candle during a vigil to commemorate the second anniversary of the Maguindanao massacre, near the Malacanang palace in Manila on Wednesday. Relatives of 57 people killed in the Philippines’ worst political massacre called on authorities to speed up the suspects’ trial as they marked the second anniversary of the murders.

4 - FRANCE: Paris – Sculptures made for an exhibition in Vancouver (1986) of comic character Tintin (R) and his dog Milou dressed as astronauts, on Thursday, at the Artcurial auction house in Paris. There are only four copies of the statues in the world. Sculptures, drawing, comics and objects from the Tintin world were presented two days before the Hergé auction, creator of the Belgian comic.

5 - PALESTINA: Jericho – Palestinian students from United Nations schools in the Jericho area create an aerial image in the shape of Pablo Picasso’s Peace Dove, at the foot of the Mount of Temptation just outside the West Bank city of Jericho, on Friday. The UN initiative was done in conjunction with the world-renowned aerial artist, John Quigley, to send out a peace message to the world.

6 - AFGHANISTAN: Mazar-i Sharif – An Afghan woman sits on the ground as she begs next to Hazrat-e Ali shrine in Mazar-i Sharif on Saturday. Despite massive injections of foreign aid since the fall of the Taliban in 2001, Afghanistan remains desperately poor with the lowest standards in the world.

7 - CHINA: Beijing – A woman visits the “My Personal Universe” sculpture exhibition at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art of the 798 art zone in Beijing, on Sunday. The exhibition, which will last to Feb. 25, 2012, presents images of the universe explosion through static exhibits and videos.
