2 - RUSSIA: Moscow – Soldiers dressed in World War II uniforms march as they take part in a military parade rehearsal at the Red square in Moscow, on Tuesday. The military parade and commemoration event will take place today, marking the 70th anniversary of the parade held in 1941, when soldiers left for the front line just after marching through the Red square, as Nazi German troops engaged in fighting with Soviet soldiers a few kilometers from Moscow.

3 - SAUDI ARABIA: Mecca – Tens of thousands of Muslim piligrims perform the evening prayer in the holy city’s Grand Mosque on Wednesday. Mecca is already awash with pilgrims who have arrived from around the world for this year’s hajj, whose rites began on Friday.

4 - ISRAEL: Quneitra – Mayanda Abud, a 27-year-old Syrian Druze bride from Damascus prepares for her wedding ceremony after she crossed the Syrian-Israeli border pass of Quneitra in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Thursday. Mayanda Abud left her family in Syria and entered the strategic plateau that Israel captured from Syria in the 1967 Six Day War to get married with Munjed Awad, 30, who lives in the Israeli controled area. The passage was facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

5 - ANTARCTICA: Ross Sea – A penguin riding on sea ice near the Ross Sea in Antarctica on Friday. As fishing stocks around the world are depleted, the Antarctic Ocean Alliance is urging the international convention tasked with managing the southern seas to establish a vast no-take network around the continent.
