Local electricity company CEM has continued its efforts to raise awareness of occupational health and safety among staff by donating MOP15,000 to Macau Construction Industry General Union on Wednesday.
The money will be used in initiatives promoting health and safety at work amongst the union’s members.
Early last year CEM signed a protocol of cooperation with the union to encourage CEM staff to report any internal near-misses and unsafe situations.
During the program period, CEM received 15 reports from staff regarding near-miss incidents and unsafe situations, and say they have made relevant improvements to create a safer working environment.
Last year CEM implemented a number of initiatives to advocate occupational health and safety including World Quality Day, Safety Month, SHEQ Newsletter, Safety Leaflet, Tool Box Talk, and Emergency Drill.
The cheque presentation ceremony was held at the headquarters of the union.
