Seniors celebrate Lunar New Year at Galaxy and MGM

Galaxy Entertainment Group (“GEG”)’s Volunteer Team invited more than 100 seniors from Respect Senior General Association of Macau to a lavish luncheon at Galaxy Macau to celebrate the arrival of the Lunar New Year.
The luncheon started off with a fun group exercise led by the members of the association to raise awareness of the importance of exercise in maintaining good health. Though it was the first time for most of the volunteer team members to do the exercise, the members played very well and had a wonderful moment interacting with the elderly people.
After short bouts of exercise, the elderly participants and the volunteer team members were entertained by an enjoyable dining experience accompanied with interesting activities.
As a token of heartwarming blessings, the volunteer team members, accompanied by the “Fortune of God”, distributed New Year gifts and red pockets to the delighted participants. Finally, the event was concluded with an exciting guessing game and an opera song sang together by the volunteer team members and the participants.
MGM MACAU also hosted a celebration with Senior citizens, “Chinese New Year Celebration with Elderlies” at MGM Grand Ballroom on Tuesday for over 150 senior citizens.
The gathering commenced with MGM’s volunteer mascot “LEO” and traditional lion dance that cheered up the atmosphere at 3pm before the event set up by MGM Volunteer Team. Chef Chow Chung not only designed a special menu of delicious and healthy dishes, but also interacted with the seniors with games and specially invited 4 senior citizens to join “Happy Kitchen” and to make an auspicious dish – “Steamed bean curd with minced fish”.  During the celebration, the volunteers also performed their singing and dancing on stage before lucky draws and distributing “lai see” and gift packs by the mascot “LEO”.
After that, the MGM volunteers distributed 150 scarves and put them on the seniors as a warming gift for Chinese New Year.

Mocha Clubs opens 10th venue – Mocha Golden Dragon

Mocha Clubs (“Mocha’”) celebrated on Wednesday the Grand Opening of its 10th Mocha Clubs, Mocha Golden Dragon.
The theme of the opening ceremony is “10” and the event was hosted by Hong Kong artists King Kong and Samantha Ko. Following the opening ceremony, an eye-catching dragon dance and crystal drum performance and various interactive prize-giving games was arranged for the patrons.
Constance Hsu, President of Mocha Clubs, mentioned at her opening speech, “In the Chinese tradition, Dragon symbolizes power, elegance, honour, luck and success. With the opening of the 10th Mocha Clubs, I hope the development of Mocha will soar high together with the economic growth of Macau. At the mean time, I am very grateful to the long term support of the Macau SAR Government, and to Co-Chairman and CEO, Mr Lawrence Ho for his trust and confidence in
Mocha, and to all Mocha staff members for their one heart and one goal attitude, which have enabled Mocha to move up to the next level.”
Mocha Golden Dragon is located at the Hotel Golden Dragon.
The three-storey club, with a floor area of about 20,000 sf., with 24-hour all weather service, offers about 300 slot machines and electronic table games.

 

Sands China volunteers win Honours Award

Sands China Ltd. honoured 12 of its team members at an appreciation lunch on January 9, for their volunteer work in the Macau community.
“We really appreciate the effort, time and commitment our team members give to contributing to the Macau community,” said Edward Tracy, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sands China Ltd.
“Our team members have shown that they are the caliber of people that not only care about doing their best at work, but in doing their best in their community. And that’s something that we’re very proud of, and we wanted to honour their contributions today,” he stressed.
The Voluntary Social Services Association of Macao gave Sands China Ltd. its
Corporate Volunteer Award, as part of its Outstanding Volunteers Election 2011, on December 5, 2011 – International Volunteer Day.
The organisation also gave Lilian Chao, Conference Manager of Conventions & Exhibitions, the Macao Top 10 Best Volunteer Award, and awarded Rafaela Boyol Sanchez, Sands Rewards Club Shift Manager of Mass Player Development, with the Outstanding Corporate Volunteer Award.
Ten Sands China team members were recognised by the Macau Youth Volunteer Association, as part of its International Volunteer Award Presentation.

Mainlanders award CTM top brand honours

CTM was awarded this year “The 7th Quality and Integrity Merchants in HK and Macau” and “My Most Favourite Top Ten Brands in HK and Macau”,  being the 5th consecutive year that it receive this honor.
In a press release CTM stressed that “this is a solid proof that the Company is recognized and acknowledged by the residents of Mainland China on its quality service and serving with integrity”. CTM reiterated that the company “will remain committed to enhancing its service quality with the customer-oriented philosophy, with an aim to strengthen its corporate image and brand reputation in the Greater China Region”.
During the presentation ceremony at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, Fiona Chou, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications received the two awards on behalf of CTM, from the senior management members of the Guangzhou Daily (the organizer) and Guangzhou Tourism Bureau respectively.
Residents from Mainland China voted for their favourite merchants in Hong Kong and Macau through Guangzhou Daily and  online, through www.dayoo.com between December 9-22 last year.
The judging panel elected 53 merchants in Hong Kong and Macau to receive “The Quality and Integrity Merchants” while 11 Hong Kong merchants and 4 Macau merchants were awarded  “My Most Favourite Top Ten Brands in HK” and “My Favourite Brands in Macau” respectively.
